Introduction

As I look back over my life I am amazed at all the ups and downs. Sometimes we barely make it through and sometimes things seem to fit together like a perfectly choreographed dance. It has been quite the riveting tale and none of it documented. My husband, Brent, and I decided that this might be a fun way to document the next big push in our lives and the journey that will inevitably result. Things could come together perfectly somehow, or we could totally crash and burn… I really hope that is not the case. Anyway, let me fill you in on who we are and welcome you to navigate life with us as we begin the next chapter of this epic life.

My name is Megan. I am a wife, mom, entrepreneur, horse trainer, and business owner. I am creative, persistent, hardworking, stubborn, introverted, and a bit type A. My husband, Brent, is a safety professional in the construction industry. He is a quiet, private, extroverted, dedicated, and supportive provider, father, and husband. We are a pretty decent pair. Where I am fluttery and anxious, he is grounded and solid. When my path begins to weave, he straightens us out. When he would prefer to stay more typical 9-5, I push us to take more risks. When he would spend, I encourage saving. My point is we balance and we work well… most of the time. We have by no means ironed out married life, but we are enjoying the learning curves in this beautiful journey.

Last year we turned our entire life upside down by adding the best addition to our family, our son. Gosh, I didn’t know love till I held him for the first time. My heart broke in the best most beautiful way. I have been ruined and I am sure in his own way so has his father. We are besotted and blessed and scrambling and tired to the bone and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We have two dogs. Ellie who is my partner in crime, she and I started this little family. It was Ellie who approved of Brent. When we were dating she used to destroy bits of his clothing so I knew right away he was the one. Ellie is smart, too smart. She struggles with allergies I think, or at least frequent ear infections. She recently had surgery on her leg, and she likes to bite her sister. Bailey is our other dog. Oh Bailey… … I have defended this dog but, the last nail was hammered into Bailey’s proverbial coffin when she entered the guest bedroom to eat Ellie’s food right in front of her. Bailey… really… Naturally there was a fight. Bailey is goofy, constantly underfoot, adorable, great with our son, and apparently rather thick in the head.

The last part of our family lives in our barn. As I mentioned I am a horse trainer. We currently have 3 horses. Pippin was my original and purchased as a project horse to eventually be sold to fund my next horse. That never happened and he has earned his permanent place in our home.  Actually, technically, he isn’t mine anymore since I have gifted him to our 9 month old. Horse math, yall will learn more about that as we go on. Technically I have 2 horses. Poppy was another project horse that I purchased, she is sassy… so sassy, talented, difficult, and absolutely adorable. Pandora is my upper-level horse. She is stoic, kindhearted, introverted, talented, and humble. More on my horses later.

This is us, welcome to our blog. Please join us on our journey.
